Rajesh Shenava MD. FASN.

Dr. Rajesh Shenava graduated from Kasturba Medical College and completed his residency at J. J. M. M. C Institute of Medical Education and Research in India. While there, he was appointed as Tutor (Chief Resident) in Internal Medicine and later served on the faculty at Kasturba Medical College, M.A.H.E., Mangalore, India. He then continued his Nephrology training at the Reno Vascular and Metabolic Center, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and State Wide Renal Services in Sydney, Australia prior to moving to the US. In the US, Dr. Shenava did his residency in Internal Medicine at University of Kansas Medical Center-Wichita, Kansas, following which he joined Tulane University Medical Center, New Orleans, LA, for another fellowship in Nephrology. He later joined as faculty at the Louisiana State University, New Orleans, LA. He has been actively involved in patient care, training of medical students, Internal Medicine residents and fellows, in addition to being actively involved in research activities all through his career. Dr. Shenava’s clinical and basic science interests however center around the kidney, hypertension and related areas. He has been a recipient of multiple awards and is a member and fellow of the American Society of Nephrology. He currently holds several administrative and academic leadership positions at various hospitals, Dialysis units and prestigious organizations like the American Society of Nephrology.

JINI JOSEPH RN, MSN ENP-C.

Gini Joseph recently moved to Houston, Texas and joined Dr. Rajesh Shenava here in practice. Her educational background includes completing Bachelors of Science in Nursing from St. Martha's College of Nursing, Bangalore India in 2002. She finished her Masters of Nursing at Walden University Minneapolis, MN in 2019, specializing in the Family Nurse Practitioner. Mrs. Joseph is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners certifying Board and currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her experience includes 16 years as a Registered Nurse in an inpatient setting, caring for patients in a high risk unit with various diseases including diabetes, hypertension and kidney disease. She also completed 630 hours of Practicum in Family Nurse Practitioner program, seeing patients all over the state of Arkansas with a wide range of illnesses and diseases. Gini decided to pursue Nephrology after moving to Houston and has since continued to advance her studies and practice in this specialized field alongside with Dr. Rajesh Shenava.
